Nostalgia & History > Fifty Or More Years Ago - EL 7254Date: 01/14/22 07:17 Fifty Or More Years Ago - EL 7254 Author: refarkas (From a damaged negative) Even fifty or more years ago, I knew this was special. EL 7254 was the last operating EL ALCO FA. When she would be retired, there would be no more operating FA's through my regular railfanning area. Not only that, she was on the point!
EL 7254 leads a great lashup even by EL standards (Anything Goes!). More than likely this is the winter of 1967/1968. EL 7254 is eastbound in Kent, Ohio with an ALCO FA, ALCO RS-3, EMD F3B, EMD F3A lashup. I'm blessed to remember her this way.
