Author: 3rdswitch . . . every unit out there was new at one time, no matter how ratty they look today or yesterday. Here, in AUG '91, a CNW train was doubling over sticking it's head end almost into Sheffield interlocking, on the east side of Kansas City, MO, with a very new GE leading.

I thought this was fresh out of its repaint -- the first batch of these were repainted at Mid-America Car in KC in 1991, after being delivered in Zito -- but I stand corrected; this one was delivered in 7/1991 and must have been on one of its first trips. Great catch.
