A Couple Of Anything - USS 165/USS 166

Here are two photos of US Steel EMD-repowered Baldwin road switchers in Ensley, Alabama on October 13, 1973.
1.) USS 165 - I believe some members of the crew could ride in the short hood. That is why there is a window there.
2.) USS 166 is pulling hoppers of coal or coke.

Excellent scenes from USS' Alabama operations.  Both units appear to be in top condition.
That former B&LE hopper in Photo 2 really adds to the scene.

Saw these engines many times when I delivered fuel to US Steel(TCI) works in Ensley.
