Nostalgia & History > A Couple Of Anything - USS 165/USS 166Date: 01/16/22 18:16 A Couple Of Anything - USS 165/USS 166 Author: refarkas Here are two photos of US Steel EMD-repowered Baldwin road switchers in Ensley, Alabama on October 13, 1973.
1.) USS 165 - I believe some members of the crew could ride in the short hood. That is why there is a window there. 2.) USS 166 is pulling hoppers of coal or coke. That former B&LE hopper in Photo 2 really adds to the scene. Thanks for your excellent photo posting. ALLEN Date: 01/17/22 08:14 Re: A Couple Of Anything - USS 165/USS 166 Author: SD608708 Saw these engines many times when I delivered fuel to US Steel(TCI) works in Ensley.
