F unit Friday . . .

.   .   .   back in JUL '91, I had my one and only encounter with BN's freshly rebuilt executive F pair sitting at BN's former Q Murray Yard in Kansas City. Of course in almost the worst light possible.

Beautiful looking locomotives.  The paint looks like it wasn't dry yet.

I just missed riding in this BN F-unit combo. I was on the second of 2 MRL crews that were called very close together one afternoon in Laurel, MT. In fact, we showed up at the Laurel RH about the same time the crew ahead of was just leaving the 'house with their power. Of course, they had these 2 A-B F units at the point of their regular consist. All I could do was grab the camera out of my grip as fast as I could...

I don't think the lighting is all that bad.  Nice looking units and they sure sparkle!

A beauty for sure. Looks like something I'd see pictured on ScaleTrains.com with an ETA date!

Nice catch.  I might be in the minority, but I like that paint scheme.
