Green River Wyoming Amtrak mid-70's, E units, SP F units

This post has several clips of Amtrak around Green River Wyoming, I don't know the exact time frame, I think mid 70's. E units and F units, no new power. The trains have a lot of cars compared with today and shows them moving right along. Unknown photographer, my collection, KCRW287

Never seen a pic of SP F's east of Ogden.

SDP40Fs took over Spring? 1974.

I'd guess around 1973.  A lot of UP and SP paint passenger cars mixed with some early Amtrak paint.  UP E units with SP FP7's, UP always leading.  Interesting series of scenes.  That would be the early San Francisco Zephyr?

Enjoyed your movies of Amtrak's SF Zephyr . Fascinating scenes. They were really moving at high speeds in those days. Don't know what the SP FP7's were geared for ?  79 mph ? The UP E units likely were geared for 98 mph in those days. Thanks for sharing these 8 mm movies.
