Nostalgia & History > Green River Wyoming Amtrak mid-70's, E units, SP F unitsDate: 05/01/22 09:33 Green River Wyoming Amtrak mid-70's, E units, SP F units Author: KCRW287 This post has several clips of Amtrak around Green River Wyoming, I don't know the exact time frame, I think mid 70's. E units and F units, no new power. The trains have a lot of cars compared with today and shows them moving right along. Unknown photographer, my collection, KCRW287

SDP40Fs took over Spring? 1974. Date: 05/01/22 10:10 Re: Green River Wyoming Amtrak mid-70's, E units, SP F units Author: SPDRGWfan I'd guess around 1973. A lot of UP and SP paint passenger cars mixed with some early Amtrak paint. UP E units with SP FP7's, UP always leading. Interesting series of scenes. That would be the early San Francisco Zephyr?

They were really moving at high speeds in those days. Don't know what the SP FP7's were geared for ? 79 mph ? The UP E units likely were geared for 98 mph in those days. Thanks for sharing these 8 mm movies.
