looking SW on ex ACL toward Tampa. The exSAL crossed about a mile away The SAL depot was located there as shown. 3rd picture Looking NE toward Orlando. The current "depot" is the same location where the ACL wood depot stood. About 1925 or so the SAL extended the line from Wildwood to West Palm Beach. Most if not all of the depots were masonary construction and had a Spainish style look. On the oher hand the ACL was much older and had (at some) wood depots. As an exception the Orlando station was all masonary. I know the depot shown does look like its self. Many changes were made. Of note,ACL station signs were purple and white and show the city only.The SAL signs were white with black letters and showed the state as well. UJ |
