A UP U25B with a Low Short Hood

UP GE U25B 638 built Aug. 1962 at Pocatello, ID in August 1971, Al Chione photo.  Many of you commented that all the U25Bs I have posted had high short hoods.  Here is one that doesn't.   And the top of the low hood looks to be pained white.  That would seem to make more glare.  Also it seems that all the weird stuff was at Pocatello.

The top of the low hood would be a faded light green with sand or some type of grit mixed in.

Is the white coupler due to doing checks for cracks or other flaws?

The unit behind the U25B appears to be one of UP's Alco C630s.
