That's exactly the hump power I remember seeing during the summer of 1974. This was during my first stint working for the Santa Fe. I had hired on as a track laborer on an extra gang based at Morris, just outside of Argentine. After getting off work in the afternoons I would spend my time driving around, getting to know the Kansas City metro area. I passed over Argentine many times and distinctly remember seeing the 9837 at work on the westbound hump, which is now long gone...
