Nostalgia & History > 6 of Red Arrow Lines Media and Sharon Hill Cars

These cars ran from the 69th Street Terminal in Upper Darby (at the western edge of Philadelphia) to Drexel Hill Junction where the routes split, one west to Media and the other south to Sharon Hill.  There were three types of double-ended cars, each shown in 2 of my 6 photos.

1. Car 21 at Sharon Hill, PA a PCC inspired car built by St. Louis Car Co.  Seen here on December 28, 1971 as the operator reverses the trolley poles.  Note the SEPTA logo has partially replaced by the Red Arrow logo.

2. Another St. Louis Car Co. car, #23, out on the Sharon Hill Line on September 28, 1969.

3. Brill car 78 rolled Media and resting in Upper Darby, PA on November 30, 1968.    Note the Red Arrow Logo has not been replaced by the SEPTA logo.

These are all great photos and bring back pleasant memories from riding down to the 69th Street Terminal.  Those were very comfortable riding streetcars in my book.  Thank you Marty for sharing them with all of us.
