Nostalgia & History > 1955: Texas & Pacific and Southern Railway boxcars

The date is sometime in October, 1955 in Roebling, NJ. It is the construction site of the Standard Steel Spring Plant that is being built. Texas & Pacific RR boxcar 71473 and Southern Railway boxcar 13613  are evidently being unloaded of wood for building this plant. This image was scanned in from a slide taken by a site supervisor. What impressed me was not so much the scene but how this slide retained its colors after sixty-seven years.
