The famous GE U36B, with such high horse power they were extremely slippery. The SCL complained to GE, and GE then came up with the "MATE", or Motors for Additional Tractive Effort. Each U36B provided power for one truck on the MATE. All that high HP wasted.

Wish I had gottem mopre pix of them...
