SCL at South Collier
Author: Guitartrain

Seaboard Coast Line U36B-1854 is on the point of a S/B at the south end of Collier Yard. The train is backing into the yard, making a set-out. 12:20PM on 4/5/77 in Petersburg, VA.

This is a great pic from the SCL days.  Nice to see the pulpwood loads in the train.  The SCL had lots of online wood yards back then, generating lots of pulpwood loads.  They also hauled sawdust, wood chips, and stumps.

Classy SCL pinstripes on the 1854, though a bit weathered by that date.

They would be going to one of two area paper mills south of Collier Yard: Roanoke Rapids, NC, or Franklin, VA.
