UP 9125 leads an eastbound stack train near Virgilia CA

Sigh . . . I miss locomotives without ditch lights.  I also miss Prime PM920 airhorns; do you reckon the engineer saw you and blew the horn to say hi?

Yes, I scored a horn standing in the rain. Really great times as most engineers didn't want rocks coming down from excessive horn blowing.

Great video, can't believe it's been that long since the UP stack trains used to look like that, especially with those classic APL containers.  I didn't see the Feather River until later, but it sure is a beautiful place to chase trains.

Typical awful sounding Leslie S3 horn in use by UP during that time period.
