Nostalgia & History > Warbonnet Wednesday . . .Date: 11/23/22 12:41 Warbonnet Wednesday . . . Author: 3rdswitch . . . in JUN '02 while doubling over an outbound train in the old small and crowded MAERSK facility in the Port of Long Beach, we just happened to stop near one of the overpasses that dock workers use to access the adjacent COSCO facility. This old MAERSK facility was very small and was accessed through the middle of the adjacent COSCO facility which interupted operations for both during yarding and building of inbound and outbound trains. Today, this entire area is COSCO and MAERSK built an entirely new facility four times as big on man made land in the middle of the port of Los Angeles five or six miles to the west.
