IT WOULDN'T HAPPEN TODAY. Check out the three crew members riding on slug 9904. One person is walking on SD40-6124. And how about that high-nose C630-1139. Stewie, can I use your time machine? 1:35PM on 12-19-79 in Bluefield, WV.

I'm guessing the FM slug came from the Virginian Rwy.  Did N&W convert any of the Wabash Train Masters to slugs?

The 9904 was built as VGN 59, but yes, some of the Alco-repowered ex-Wabash H24-66's were dealt one more indignity by being cut down into slugs.  NS RP-F6Y #9905 preserved at the Reading Railroad Heritage Museum is former Wabash 552.
