Early Reading & Northern action

Some impressive action from the Reading & Northern way, way back in the mid-90's.  All May 20, 1995.

1.  SW8m 803 (ex-LV 270) and three other EMD switchers work a cut of cars at Belt Line Jct. in Reading, PA.  Trackage here is now NS, nee-Conrail, nee-Reading Company.

2.  U23B 2399 works a 95 car cut of empty hoppers also at Belt Line Jct.

Great photos! In your first you can see the rear of Schwambach’s Diner which was a great spot to watch the action and grab a bite.

I never ate there.  I'm not much of a diner person.  Convenient parking lot, though.

Local railfans in the Reading area referred to it as "CP Schwambach's"
