Great photo!
In the early 1960's pretty much all they had to power Donner trains was Fs and SD9s and they used a lot of them on every train.
I've only posted this Colfax, Calf. photo from June 1965 on here around 100 times, but clearly shows how SP used many Fs on  Donner  trains.

The second photo must be westbound since the doors are up on the ice bunker.

Man in June of 1965 I was serving time with Uncle Sam at Fort Ord.  i sure wish i could have been in Colfax at that time.
