5 of Union Pacific Geeps and SDs

1. UP GP9 319 built July 1957 and retired February 1979, photoed in Twin Galls, ID August 12, 1976 by Larry Anglund.

2. UP GP20 494 built August 1960 as UP 724 and wrecked and retired November 1982, photoed in Twin Falls, ID August 17, 1976 by Larry Anglund.

3. UP GP30 800 built July 1962 and retired December 1984, photoed in Twin Falls, ID August 19, 1976 by Larry Anglund.

4. UP GP35 747 built May 1964 and retired June 1985, used by AAR at Pueblo test facility from August 1986 to February 1987, photoed in Denver, CO June 1978, Larry Anglund Collection.

5. UP SD24 427 built September 1959 and retired October 1977 and sold to Precision National Corp., Mount Vernon, Illinois, in October 1977, rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen to non-turbocharged, 1800 horsepower.

Nice ones Marty. I worked the Twin Falls area a few times over the years. It always seemed to be in winter and around the holidays, or in other words when I didn't really want to be there. And it's where I learned how to straighten out the end stanchions on a unit when someone forgot to unhook the chains for the walkway.
