Guessing that was a MRVRO. Lots of tanks and some coal cars. 

Interesting that it was a 3 Engine helper set. Usually the Colfax Helper was 2 units.

There was a period of time where a third unit was added to the (2) pairs of Colfax helpers. They experimented with heavier eastbounds out of Roseville with the hope of meeting westbound tonnage at Truckee to work back to Colfax/Bowman/Rocklin. It looked fabulous on paper. They added more dog catching crews, higher fueling costs and trains parked waiting for help. They also went to the other extreme, shorter trains and no helpers before going back to 2 pairs of 2 unit helpers.
