Here is a number 6 Peter Witt Streetcar owned by the Baltimore Transit Company heading across the Patapsco River Middle Branch from Downtown Baltimore towards Brooklyn and Curtis Bay in the south side of Baltimore City.  Photo taken by the late George J. Voith in 1947 or 48.  This bridge, known as the Hanover Street Bridge, is still in service today although the decking has been rebuilt several times.

I'm guessing this is a double bascule draw bridge looking at the special trolley wire supports. It is always interesting to see how overhead trolley or catenary is handled by different types of movable bridges, such as this, swwing and lift spans. There is quite a collection of them on the Northeast Corridor in Connecticutt.
Thanks for the Baltimore Trolley photos. It was certainly different times. I was 3 years old!

Yes, Gonut, you are correct in that the streetcar is actually on the draw span which lifted up in two sections and the polls went with it.  You are very observant.
