May, 1995: CR 3342 needs a paint job!
Author: Pattenburg

It is May, 1995 as CR Roadrailers are headed east with CR 3342 as the leader in need of a paint job. RR 260 is seen exiting Musconetcong Tunnel in Pattenburg, NJ in this scene on CR's Lehigh Line. As an FYI, CR 3342 would eventually be renumbered as CSX 4426.

Conrail sure got their money out of those GP40-2's.   Having been built in 1978, I guess they would have earned a repaint by 1995 having carried CR's priority trains through the critcal rebuilding years where CR really reinvented itself.

The 3342 looks as if it was a former PC unit with black showing through the CR blue.   In fact it was bought new by CR so I'm surprised to see black (primer?) showing through.
