Little train on the prairie: Paxton, NE

I had this image earmarked as possible candidate for another ‘comm-code line’ thread. But with this tiny train theme taking off, here we are. In that spirit, here’s a Z-scale passenger train* on an extremely well-detailed O-scale layout.

Well, not really. But......... ;^)

Thanks for looking a little closer!

Remembering the late Jim Watson, aka ‘UP6900’

*43 years later can anyone remember what this UP company special was running for? Perhaps a “Jr Old-Timer’s Special”?

Can we cue the Chicks, "Wide Open Spaces"?

I'd like to say JAA would know what special this would be, but I'm betting he would consult his collection of the Camerail Club's newsletters, April or May '80 issues.

Whoops... Too bad "DJ Sir L "didn't pay close enough attention to the C/W genre, even though he just couldn't pull the trigger and embrace the Seattle grunge movement back in 'em days...

Yep. John would probably have known without looking what train this was.

From the length of the train with a bunch of coaches on the head end and what appears to be a single dome way back there I would go with a "JOTS" on it's way to party town. The Es would be retired in June so this was very near the end. Oh, and I hope you find a closer shot of this and the 6901!!
