There was some interest in upgrading some of the BNSF (BN) SD9 locomotives to continue their useful lifespan.  So some were upgraded , but the project was abandoned. Here are shots of BNSF 6100  as an SD9-3.

Too bad they didn't continue that program.  That is sharp looking power.  Thanks for the great photos.

Agree they look pretty sharp. Always liked the SD9's, GN and CB&Q had some interesting configurations in their fleets.
Have to remember the frames are as old as I am.
