Nostalgia & History > MKT train w/F unit in Katy,TxDate: 05/15/24 07:41 MKT train w/F unit in Katy,Tx Author: gcm Nov 1975
Probably posted this before but reworked it. GP40 204 leads a late evening westbound through Katy,Tx near Houston. The few F units the Katy had left rarely made it to the Houston area so glad to see F7 72-C. Passing the still in operation rice driers. Gary Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 05/15/24 07:42 by gcm. It looks like it took a lot of extra work to paint all those stripes. I wonder if the visibility of the front end of the locomotives was actually any better than a simple bright yellow front end ? Seems like somebody must have done some studies on it. I guess then ditch lights came along.
