Throw back Thursday, C&O . . .
Author: 3rdswitch

.   .   .   there were too many great junctions in the Chicago area to mention, and some where better than others, but with a street going right through the middle, and the street still does, although today it is all CN, Griffith, IN, was hard to beat with five railroads crossing. In AUG '72, an astbound C&O was passing through.

Other than it's 6 axle sister, the U25B ranks as one of my favorite U Boats. I know the issues with them and how crews didn't care for them but they sounded great and looked great as well. Watching and listening to 1 or a  set of them on the point while shooting trains at Banks Tower in Perdix Pa in the mid to late 70's was well worth being trackside, at least for me.  Thanks Joe, for sharing. Cool spot and shot, I didn't go there enough (maybe or 1 or 2 times)...
