Date: 09/17/24 12:10 Re: Ready to drop the puck? Author: funnelfan I'm in the same boat. I've only known that scheme was applied to the SD45's. How many of the GP40's were painted that way?

I'll add one more model ... U23C #467 was taken by Karl Henkels in Galesburg, IL on July 20, 1969 and I think only 1 GP40 **** Looks like another U23C was painted (#468?) and is just behind the 467 Edited 2 time(s). New orders of SD45’s and U23C’s. Posted from iPhone Date: 09/17/24 20:29 Re: Ready to drop the puck? Author: ATSFSuperCap Only one GP40, the pictured was painted in the BN test scheme. Otherwise the last order of CB&Q SD45's all had the white dipped end scheme and the U23C's did as well. This was not a BN paint scheme, it was the final CB&Q scheme, and note the nose stripes were thinner and V'd, the units were lettered simply BURLINGTON on the side and had Q numbers.

Those that survived were later repainted, and renumbered, dropping the "hockey stick". Thanks for posting the original shots, V. Nick Tharalson, Marion, IA Edited 1 time(s).
