A Real 3 X 3 Conrail Style
Author: overniteman

A grungy Summer day has Conrail's Mail-3 slamming thru Duncannon on it's way West along the old Pennsy.

Up front are 3 GE B36-7's and 3 EMD GP40's.delivering some 19,000 h.p.

About another 100 miles or so I can hear him talking to "Altoona East" dispatcher saying "We don't need any help".

Awesome. I miss those days. Although I do replicate them in my basement... I can run a Mail-3 with 4 B36-7s and 3-4 GP40/GP40-2's!

Them GE's did get up and move with some audible noises coming from them. One could really hear em along the river west out of Banks or east out View.  Great shot. Thanks for sharing. Ben

I know the ones that CSX had would run the wheels off piggybacks.

Under load at 60mph not a bad ride go to idle and look for a cornfield to land in.
