Nostalgia & History > 5 of US Steel's Baldwin DS44-1000sDate: 10/30/24 20:23 5 of US Steel's Baldwin DS44-1000s Author: MartyBernard Wikipedia told me, "Geneva Steel was a steel mill located in Vineyard, Utah, United States, founded during World War II to enhance national steel output. It operated from December 1944 to November 2001. Its unique name came from a resort that once operated nearby on the shore of Utah Lake."

The mill is long gone now, it's slowly turning into suburbia. I remember some old switchers at the mill when it was still in operation, they sure had a "well worn" look to them.
