Switcher Saturday: Reading at Steamtown
Author: bandob

Seen at Steamtown, Scranton PA in 2006. I tried to find information about this locomotive on the Web Site, but they comment that Steamtown's purpose is related to the steam era, and "none of the diesels asre considered to be museum quality, although some are old enough to be historic." Further information about the locomotive from TO members appreciated.

On loan to Steamtown by one of the Historical Socities. Have seen both the RDG Technical and Historical Society and the Anthracite Historical Society listed as owners.

But it's an original RDG RS3, the 467. Bought new in 1952. The rain gutter above cab window is a sure fire give away on its RDG Heritage. Nice shot. Ben
