Nostalgia & History > Historical Operation Of SP 9010, San Jose, Calif. 1967Date: 01/08/25 08:56 Historical Operation Of SP 9010, San Jose, Calif. 1967 Author: FiveChime I've posted this before but with all the excitement surrounding the first unassisted operation of the only
KM 9010's operation on the Niles Canyon Railway last Monday, I thought seeing the locomotive in action would be of interest. Late Tom Hallendorf's 8mm to DVD from January 1967 at San Jose at the Lenzen round house. Ironically, the Pacific Locomotive Association not only has the 9010, but also, the turntable on which 9010 is on. The Lenzen turntable is one of the first historical pieces from Santa Clara County that will be in PLA's future museum proposed for the Niles wye. There are some other interesting thing in the short video segment. The visual quality has suffered over the years Regards, Jim Evans You must be a registered subscriber to watch videos. Join Today! I understand they didn't MU with too many other types of units. When in weekend freight service they would be one or two of them but no other units. Regards, Jim Evans Date: 01/08/25 09:20 Re: Historical Operation Of SP 9010, San Jose, Calif. 1967 Author: BoilingMan Cool!
(Although that soundtrack might be setting the bar a little too high to live up to, action-wise) SR Date: 01/08/25 18:58 Re: Historical Operation Of SP 9010, San Jose, Calif. 1967 Author: broken_link I failed to notice the damsel in distress tied to the tracks anywhere. She must have been there, somewhere.
