Looking WNW. Says 1954 -- several semaphores
at the west end of the yard. At the right edge of
the pic the top of the SP Electric substation is
visible. It disappeared ... 2000-2010?

This one says 1959; the semaphores
have been replaced

SP had those a few of those huge orange
sand towers; did anyone else? Why did they
come into fashion and then go out?

The old wood sand tower just left of center
is visible in the other pic. That third lattice pole
on the right, with all the extra steel so the lines
could cross above the tracks to get to the
substation, was still there until a few years ago.
