4. FP45 #5, built 12//68, and TR4B #690B, built 9//50 as #2001B, were in the shop.
Glenview, Illinois, 8/10/72
5. A w/b Amtrak train was led by CMSTP&P E9A #30A, built 2//56 as #200A, later AMTK #405.  This may have been a St. Louis – Chicago – Milwaukee train.  It had two dome cars, but I think it’s too short to have been the North Coast Hiawatha or the Empire Builder.

Thanks for posting.  #1 shows a not a-typical Milwaukee "herd".  The MILW separated all their cow-calf units, put couplers on the calves and used them with about anything.  I have a shot, taken at St. Paul Yard, of a Geep, an F B and a calf, which I thought at the time was hump power.

Always found the EMD switcher hoods on the J's rebuilt centercabs to be an interesting kitbashing job.  Lots of sheet metal work to get the shorter, wider EMD hood to match up to where the longer, taller, narrower Baldwin hoods used to be

Yes, you would have thought with the taller Baldwin hood that they could have not altered things. But I guess they had to add an EMD touch.

Thanks for sharing, I photographed the EJ&E 906 and 921 plus caboosse No. 518 at the same location in the early 1970s. My grudgy super 8 movies of Rondout are on the Tube.

Great set - My favorite is photo six with the two EJ&E re-engined Baldwin centercabs.
