A few Lehigh Valley rosters from the mid 70's
Author: bobdavis

Attached are three scans of Lehigh Valley diesels taken in the mid 1970s.  #1 is Alco C420 409 at Bethlehem, PA on February 18, 1974.  #2 taken the same day at the same location is RS11 7640, one of five former Pennsylvania RR RS11s that were acquired by the LV.  #3 is Alco RS3 211, the well-known "hammerhead" and another former PRR unit, at Lehighton, PA on March 14, 1976.  The unit had just arrived on a work train with GP9 301.  Thankfully this one survived and is nicely restored.

Thanks for sharing the images! They are of one of my late KS Gang bros’ (Dave Franz) secondary favorite railroads while he was growing up in New Jersey. He was a big EL fan first & foremost. But then he moved to Kansas in 1972 to go to college in Emporia. And the Santa Fe took over... 😁

Great stuff Bob!  Can't get enough LV stuff, particularly when the photo quality is this good.  Impressive!
