Reading SD45 7601 sits at the Bethlehem Engine Terminal (PA) service track on a warm and sunny August 18, 1974.  This was back in the days of almost unlimited access and the place was a 1:1 scale hobby shop.  Once a main terminal of the CNJ, in 1972 the Lehigh Valley took over when the CNJ pulled out of it's lease of the L&S in Pennsylvania.  On any given visit one could find LV, Reading, D&H, B&O, CNJ or Ironton power sitting here or on one of the roundhouse fan tracks.  It's all history now.

The protusion of the two front windows indicates this has that horrible control desk that took up about all of the cab space.

I recall several excursions down "Round Street" into what seemed to be inhospitable territory, it always just looked nasty. Perhaps I was a bit intimidated. Whatever I never shot any photos on that hallowed ground.

I checked out Google earth because you wrote that. What is it now? Railroad MOW yard? A wye crosses near the roundhouse scar. When did the concrete coal tower get torn down? It looks like that would've been a considerable expense for a plot of land used for MOW material storage.
