.   .   .   in MAY '84 2892 is stopped in downtown Vista, CA, on the Escondido Branch pumping up the air after picking up the maintenance of way gons on the head end. This day ended up being probably one of the, if not the, longest Escondido Locals ever as during the round trip from Oceanside to Escondido we picked up all maintenance of way equipment off the entire branch ending the day dying on the twelve hour law at the signal to the main line at Escondido Junction in Oceanside with sixty cars.
