2 GP9's and 3 F7B's. They were assigned to the La Fayette, Illinois coal train. The train ran East out of Silvis to Colona where they got on the BN (ex CB&Q) to Orion jct where they got back on the RI RIP Line (Rock Island and Peoria) line to La Fayette. The coal tipple was several miles outside La Fayette on the mine owned spur. The mine was a strip mine. zr190 Date: 07/05/25 12:50 Re: Rock Island - 1972 Author: dan i was thinking they maybe, hence new paint?
