Date: 07/06/25 06:28 Re: Another CF7 Author: Gordon1950 I ran these junkers out of Fresno, Ca. early 80's. Half the brake shoes were removed so it was hard to stop when flat switching cars. The exhaust came in the cab running down the main line. We had to do the Casey Jones thing hanging our heads out the window to get fresh air. My RFE rode one grip and agreed and told the Div. Supt. to be them off the main line. ATSF bragged that it only cost them $10,000.00 each to build these things. You gets what you pay for.

ATSF got what they wanted out of them, 10 to 15 years of service. That's all they cared about. |
