Is that a drawbridge over the canal?

Looks like a high water event, river is bank full and then some. 

Thanks for posting these pictures.  #2 is definitely Brunswick, MD, about six railroad miles west of Point of Rocks.  Gerry

March, 1936, highest recorded on the Potomac River.
The bridge at Point of Rocks was destroyed by this flood, there is old newsreel footage of the destruction on youtube.
In June 1931, the Point of Rocks station was gutted by fire after a lightning hit.
Not a drawbridge, a pier added to a bridge spanning the C&O Canal after the canal was abandoned. The road crossing the river later became US15.
The flood pic is looking west in the Brunswick yard, engine terminal is visible.
I hate when old pics are mis-labeled like this, all it does is lead to confusion among the unwary and unknowing...

I thought #2 looked like Brunswick also.  The mainline on each side of the yard made me think so.
