I don’t know exactly where in Kansas City this shot was taken. But I’d bet a plug nickel you wouldn’t recognize this scene today...

1. SL&SF 731 points a manifest in Kansas City, KS on October 22, 1966.

Check out the lead GP35 with trade-in ALCO trucks!  'Saw quite a few of these on the BN, too.

Southern had quite a few too, a good chunck of which ended up on W&LE. Several are still on the roster and in active service today.

Photographer Bill Gibson was very carefull to attach correct locations to his slides. If it was Lenexa or Olathe I'm pretty sure he would have indicated such...
