Tunnel Tuesday, Erie Lackawanna version
Author: thebluecomet

Erie Lackawanna freight 2nd NY-100 with five GP7's roars through Otisville, New York station having exited the Otisville Tunnel after it's long climb up from Port Jervis.  November 16, 1975.  While many think the Graham Line begins east of here at Howells Jct., this tunnel was also part of the Graham Line.  The original main went over the mountain and through the town of Otisville.  The two joined together at a place known as Guymar, about 3 miles west of here.  More on this train later.

Really cool shot, I bet this train rated 45's that were turned west at Port.  The juntion of the Grahamm and the main was really neat place replete with a fly over.  Looking forward to the more...

First-class scene - When one thinks of tunnels, the Erie Lackawanna is not the first railroad to come to mind.

Excellent Photo!   You really captured a dimension of pre-Conrail railroading that was so special.
