Fifty or More Years Ago - MN&S 11
Author: refarkas

(From an early low resolution scan) It is August 9, 1972 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. At first glance one sees the pole obstructing the view of Minneapolis Northfield and Southern 11 (FM H10-44), but on second look, a glimpse of one of the last two MN&S Baldwin centercab locomotives (MN&S 21) is visible in the engine house.

First off, I believe the MN&S had more than two centercabs.  Secondly, I believe also that #11 has been preserved although off the top of my head, I can't remember where or by whome.  Notice also the unit partially sticking its nose out to the elft of the center cab.  Nitpicks aside, this is a very nice shot, thanks for posting.

Here is the roster and the 21 which Bob got in the house was the one donated to the Illinois Railway Museum  https://www.thedieselshop.us/MN&S.HTML

Nick, thanks for the correction. At the time this was taken, there were only two centercabs left. I mistakenly thought these to be all they once had.

Really like #11.  The one with the overhang look great.

It's now in the collection of the Lake Superior Railroad Museum in Duluth, MN.  The H10-44 was built as Minnesota Western 51, went to Minneapolis Northfield & Southern as their 11, and ended its career as Hallett Dock 11:
