Nostalgia & History > Sunday on Yellow Bank curve.Date: 10/26/25 08:17 Sunday on Yellow Bank curve. Author: hank In May 2002 X DHTEDY (Empty grain Dalhart, Texas to Eddyville, Iowa) moving eastbound and rounding Yellow Bank curve MP 251.5 on the BNSF Marceline sub. At a large corn processing plant in Eddyville, Iowa the various products are extracted from corn and what is left becomes cattle feed. The feed is loaded into the coal hoppers you see in the video. The cars are equipped with a retractable cover to keep the ffeed fluid and from spoilage. The loaded train goes to Dalhart, Texas where the contents is mixed with other grain and becomes cattel feed for the feed lots there. An image of this train earned me a spot in the 2004 BNSF Calendar.
