Where was Roger from and where did he live when he was working for the railroads?

Roger grew up in Naperville,  a Chicago suburb on the CB&Q.  I grew up along the Q four suburbs closer to Union Station.  Roger and I went to the same Catholic High School.  He and I both worked during College for the CB&Q but never close.  He worked after college for the ATSF, pretty much all over the Santa Fe.  We railfanned off and on right up to his early death.

Thank you for making his wonderful images available for all of us to enjoy. It's sad when somebody's collection disappears forever after their passing, usually tossed or buried in an uncataloged archive somewhere. Or worse yet when it gets transferred to new ownership and the new owner refuses to let them see the light of day. Dave

Marty, I thank you for sharing Roger's slides on T. O.
I was born in Aurora but we lived in Naperville. The first trains I saw were the Q Zephyrs racing through the Naperville depot in 1954-55.

Thanks for posting.  I knew him in passing and last saw him in January 1985 at Hawks Nest, WV as we waited for the C&O 614T to come through the New River Gorge with a coal train.
I remember learning of his passing while on a Cal Western steam fantrip put together by Henry Luna.  Who may have been involved with the bus business Marty mentioned.

Thanks for the info Marty.  I've been going to ask just who was Roger and if he was a rail or just a dedicated railfan.

His pictures are nothing short of incredible. I have saved many of his photos especially his CN ones. Thanks Marty
