Could the Sunbeam run Dallas-Houston nonstop?

In steam, I mean. Far as I can see, the 1941 timetable

says it was scheduled to do 263.6 miles in 265 minutes.
Nonstop, except for the flag stop at College Station. Any
chance it could do that without stopping for water?

Ennis was a flag stop too.  I believe they could make the run without a water stop,
though it did take in water in Ennis on occasion.

Certainly "cookin' tacos" on that schedule. NICE!

The 8/38 public timetable shows no stops at all Dallas to Houston.

Considering that between Eureka Junction and Hempstead it's flat, solid running and 100 MPH running would not be hard to manage. I have heard that they kept a Mike hot in Hempstead in case she was running late northbound to get over the hillier parts of the railroad to Ennis. Not sure about that though but that would have been fun to witness.

I believe Bremond was a water stop.

In the 1941 timetable, Bremond was the
scheduled meet for the two Sunbeams.
