Nostalgia & History > Happy Thanksgiving- SHRT 65Date: 11/27/25 07:34 Happy Thanksgiving- SHRT 65 Author: refarkas Happy Thanksgiving!
Until last night I had no idea of what I would post for Thanksgiving. I thought in terms of what steam or diesel locomotive would best reflect the day. Last night I came upon this image and knew this was the one. It is PCC cars on the SHRT! I've been blessed to railfan for nearly sixty years. This image of Shaker Heights Rapid Transit 65, 48, and their sisters resting inside the Van Aken loop in Cleveland, Ohio in the late 1960's brought to mind how thankful I can be. I was born at just the right time. No, I missed all but the end of steam and only have memories, but there was so much to see since I started railfanning in 1966. Now, as I look back, I realize what memories I have and can treasure. I can truly give thanks. Bob Date: 11/27/25 08:00 Re: Happy Thanksgiving- SHRT 65 Author: callen77 Excellent view. Thankful for the T-O community, it's a fun and informative hang!

Thanks for all the photos you share on T.O. While you were catching images left and right I was more of a motorhead and only a casual camaraless railfan. I have a head full of images but nothing on film to speak of. The only PCC I was ever in is the one stuffed and mounted in the basement of the SEPTA headquarters in Philadelphia! Nice restoration but it don't move. Gonut |
