Nostalgia & History > Toss Back Tuesday: 194 at Dodge!Date: 12/02/25 07:58 Toss Back Tuesday: 194 at Dodge! Author: santafe199 Of the six of us 80s KS Gang characters my “bro” John Arbuckle was more or less a perfectionist when he was behind the view-finder. Often times he would pass on some shot while any of the rest of us would be happily burning away at our stock of Kodachrome. But when he did shoot his motordrive was in high gear, as seen below:
1. AT&SF 3805 leads train 194 CJ-1(?) in the crew change at Dodge City, KS on October 30, 1982. Original Kodachrome trader slide by John A. Arbuckle. Thanks for looking back! And complete with Santa Fe trailers up front.
Great photo and scan! Rich Date: 12/02/25 08:33 Re: Toss Back Tuesday: 194 at Dodge! Author: jgilmore Cool SF shot...

The youngins will never know the anticipation of waiting weeks to finish a roll, send it off for processing, and the thrill of opening the little yellow box and reveling in the results... You hit the nail on the head my friend. I even miss that certain odor when a brand roll was opened up for loading into my A-100… 😚 Posted from iPhone Date: 12/02/25 16:31 Re: Toss Back Tuesday: 194 at Dodge! Author: jtwlunch Lance-that would be a CJ-1 194 of the 30th orginating out of Kansas City to Denver 1st section. The 194 was the one and only intermodal/auto/mixed train depending on volumes to run between KC and Denver.
