Warbonnet Wednesday: Ross is approving!
Author: santafe199

I became completely fascinated the first time I saw how the Santa Fe main line(s) sliced diagonally through the heart of downtown Newton, Kansas. And I love how the iconic ROSS elevator held court over every train passing through town, especially classic Red & Silver varnish. There’s just something perfect about that angle!

1. AT&SF 34C leads train #8, the "Fast Mail" away from the 20” station and service stop at Newton, KS on August 12, 1962.

Thanks for looking back!

What a beautiful way to start Warbonnet Wednesday-!  Neat Newton, KS, location with the iconic Ross grain elevator.  Thanks for posting this August 1962 image, Lance.

That is a nice catch. Friend of mine caught local switching at what looks like the same crossing that I am going to use in next book in 6-73.
