Shiny green Baldwins at night
Author: rbenko

Two SMS Rail Lines DS44-1000s idle away in the Pureland Industrial Park located in Swedesboro, NJ.  Taken on May 13, 1995 as part of a (Railpace?  Railfan?) sponsored "Baldwin Fan Day" (note the initials) on SMS Rail Lines.  Probably over 100 different railfans, living and dead, got the same shot.

According to my exhaustive 5-minute online research, #1293 was renumbered to #101 and is currently stored.  #1494 was renumbered to #302, then #9069 (its original PRR number), is now painted in its original PRR color scheme, and is still working the same industrial park.

Thanks for viewing.

I sure miss the real PRR and Reading Baldwins of my youth. Oh, and the Alcos too. The rare BLH shifters too. I was never very enamored to the far too numerous EMDs, yawn! they were everywhere.
Great photo I seem to recall in Railpace or another publication back when!
Thanks for the look back.
