Signal Sunday: Searchlights at Ellinor
Author: santafe199

In the summer of 1996 I got some vacation time from MRL and went home to Kansas to see my folks. During the week I managed to get a whole day to go down and snoop around my old Santa Fe stomping grounds. And I had a decent day just hanging around Merrick & Ellinor. I even managed to shoot some Superfleet stuff: ( https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?11,3298652,3298652#msg-3298652 ). But I sure do wish that I had gone on down into the Flint Hills to bag some more! Sigh…

1. With Cotton Belt running rights SP 9783 is westbound on the Santa Fe main line at Ellinor, KS in June of 1996. Searchlight signals still ruling the property!

Thanks for looking back!

Nice catch, during the brief "decent power" era on the SP in the 1990s...
