Ivorytown Question
Author: MacBeau

Howard Hollem shot these two frames at the Proctor & Gamble plant of men loading barrels of glycerine into a tank car, and then the plant being switched. Was hoping a Queen City local could clarify the railroad switching the plant. Ivorytown was along both the NYC and the B&O.
Please credit Library of Congress for both images.
Be of good cheer,

Both photos are very historical in many ways as so many plants of this type no longer exist across our country.  Thanks for sharing these photos with us.

I can't help with locomotive ID, but I think N&W also switched the complex, via a track that curved over from their former Berry Yard.

To assist others, this is P&G's Ivorydale plant complex, in St Bernard, OH, a suburb of Cincinnati.

Thank you, for that piece of information. Was Berry Yard near Idlewild and the junction with the PRR?

Here's a blow up of the locomotive and another, closer view from the same set.  On B&O, 330 would have been a Class D-35 0-6-0, while on NYC, it would have been a Class B-6 0-6-0.

Thank you, Evan. Had not found that third image yet. Did find the plant on a map along Vine in Ivorydale.
