Nostalgia & History > Ivorytown QuestionDate: 12/07/25 14:30 Ivorytown Question Author: MacBeau Howard Hollem shot these two frames at the Proctor & Gamble plant of men loading barrels of glycerine into a tank car, and then the plant being switched. Was hoping a Queen City local could clarify the railroad switching the plant. Ivorytown was along both the NYC and the B&O.
Please credit Library of Congress for both images. Be of good cheer, —Mac www.lowellamrine.com Date: 12/07/25 15:06 Re: Ivorytown Question Author: refarkas True historic photographic treasures! Photo two is an in-plant gem!
Bob Date: 12/07/25 15:34 Re: Ivorytown Question Author: ClubCar Both photos are very historical in many ways as so many plants of this type no longer exist across our country. Thanks for sharing these photos with us.
John in White Marsh, Maryland Date: 12/07/25 15:55 Re: Ivorytown Question Author: halfmoonharold I can't help with locomotive ID, but I think N&W also switched the complex, via a track that curved over from their former Berry Yard.

On B&O, 330 would have been a Class D-35 0-6-0, while on NYC, it would have been a Class B-6 0-6-0.
